چکیده

Developing small-scale, lightweight, and flexible devices with integrated microactuators is one of the critical challenges in wearable haptic devices, soft robotics, microrobotics. In this study, a novel fabrication process that leverages benefits 3D printing two-photon polymerization printed circuit boards (FPCBs) presented. This method enables microsystems 3D-printed electrostatic microactuators, which are demonstrated micromirror array legged microrobot mass 4 mg. actuators on FPCBs robust enough to actuate micromirrors while device deformed, they easily off-the-shelf electronics. The crawling robot lightest microrobots actuated without external fields, legs enable locomotion speed 0.27 body length per second. proposed framework opens up pathway toward variety highly microsystems.

Optimally Designed Electrostatic Microactuators for Hard Disk Drives

The rotary electrostatic microactuators integrating optimally curved electrodes are proposed to enhance the actuating force-generation capability. In most of conventional type of electrostatic microactiators using rotary mode, the electrodes have not been rigorously evaluated in terms of optimality for the shape and simply have been adopted in a straight shape. As a result, two neighboring elec...

Electrostatic microactuators for precise positioning and comparison of their parameters

Comparison of several types of electrostatic microactuators is carried out, particularly with respect to their resultant force effects. The continuous mathematical model of such actuators is mostly described by the Laplace equation. In this paper, its numerical solution is performed by a fully adaptive higher-order finite element method, using a code developed by the authors. The methodology is...

Soft, flexible micromanipulators comprising polypyrrole trilayer microactuators

Within the areas of cell biology, biomedicine and minimal invasive surgery, there is a need for soft, flexible and dextrous biocompatible manipulators for handling biological objects, such as single cells and tissues. Present day technologies are based on simple suction using micropipettes for grasping objects. The micropipettes lack the possibility of accurate force control, nor are they soft ...

Characteristic modes of electrostatic comb - drive X – Y microactuators

The design of dual axis microengineered comb-drive electrostatic actuators is investigated. Experimental measurements of diode-isolated bulk micromachined x–y stages with a folded, single-flexure suspension show the presence of unwanted two-dimensional vibrational mode patterns. A combination of coupled-mode and finite-element analysis is used to explain the existence of the spurious modes, and...
